We are close to and end of "Infections Of A Different Kind Of Human" - the two steps Aurora laid out for us.
Step 1 was about finding an internal spark to improve one’s own life and Step 2 is about empowerment to change the world. While Aurora is working on another record in this series, she’s keen to point out that her next LP will be a standalone collection of songs. She doesn’t want to spoil the surprise yet, but said that her fans will understand the following clue:
“It’s just about the fact that everything matters—those two words,” (^56.1).
Aurora was asked to point out some of the treats on Step 2, and answered:
"I want to mention 'Hunger'. It’s about all our consuming, the endless hunger for money, food, clothes and how we’ve destroyed the world because of that hunger. We force ourselves to not see the people dying to make you a t-shirt because you’re hungry to buy as many T shirts that you can. We waste money and time on things that won’t make a difference" (56.2).
She really wanted Step 2 to show us that we need to take better care of the world and of eachother, and she speaks more about this in another interview:
«That’s one of the central themes on “Hunger.” That song is about our desire and greed for stuff, some of which is made by the poor in other countries in inhospitable conditions» (^56.2).
«I like old clothes and I like to know who made the clothes. It’s scary these days; when clothes are so cheap and you don’t know who makes it. I find it really scary and really unsettling. So I like... to know where they come from.»(^56.2).
It's not so often we get to hear Aurora use the word "Hate", but in this case she let it slip through:
"I hate everything in fashion. I make my clothes or buy vintage. A fan gave me a piece of fabric from Indonesia that I’ve stitched into my trousers and made a top from. She carried it all the way for me and gave to me at a tiny show in Norway" (^56.1).
