I know. It’s a very strange question. Most people would probably say it’s unfair to rate music. It will always depend on the one listening to it. The time and place you were presented for it matters as well. I might not like a song today, but I might adore it in a week.
Still, there is an interest in making lists. We like to see how our favourites compare to others’ favourites - and most of us like to win 😊.
What Happened To The Heart Championship 2025
This championship started on the Warriors & Weirdos Facebook group in january, but through the first three rounds it became clear that it didn’t belong there. That is why I decided to move it. I have made a dedicated group on Facebook for those of you who want to continue following there, and I intend to use the broadcast channel on Instagram for those of you who prefer that platform.
Of course, this isn’t really about deciding which song is better or worse - we all know music is a matter of taste and changes all the time. That is why the question is posed as shown below. The answer to that will probably change depending on the mood you’re in.
This is about making conversations, sharing thoughts, get to know each other and having fun as we share the beauty of Aurora’s music together! Maybe we learn something new about her music, too, along the way.
How it works
The championship will be between the songs on Aurora's album “What Happened to the Heart.” Every day (almost), there will be a head-to-head "combat" between two songs, and you may vote for the song you believe is the greatest of the two.
This is the question:
Which of these songs resonates more with you today?
Scoring:
The winner of each match gets 2 points.
If it’s a tie, both songs get 1 point.
The loser gets 0 points.
The percentages of votes will be noted and added together, and will show as score% in the table. This will be the tie-breaker if we get multiple songs on top
The matches will be presented in the morning, and I’ll give you 48 hours to respond. Votes after that will be forfeit.
Each week you will be presented with an updated table showing the current scores for all songs. This championship will continue until all songs have faced each other, and in the end, the song with the highest score will be crowned the winner.

The description says: “A channel to support the artist AURORA, her work and her important messages.” - And that is exactly what you get when you enter that nook on YouTube; a large collection of outtakes from Aurora interviews (and more…), showing us the many wise words spoken by her over the years. Like this one:
You know, there is… like… there is something inside me that needs to make music and I need to be able to hear it and to play the music I make so I can hear it myself and… it’s kind of…. you kind of understand yourself better when you make music and you play it and you listen to it and you kind of understand… I don’t know it, it’s very strange, but I need to make music.
Quite often when I need inspiration I dive in to his playlist of Aurora Quotes. As I write this there are 250 videos within that playlist, which probably makes it the largest collection of quotes from Aurora.
And… There’s a great collections of videos too, so get your a** over there and give them some love 💚: https://www.youtube.com/@forrrob/playlists

He's done the 7th video of his "Live over the years series". As usual, he’s trying to stay away from the most known videos, and use the fan cams with the best quality (audio first) so that you can hopefully find things you did not see before.1
The process of making this video is like this:
Choose the best candidates, around 2 per year usually (and when possible).
Rescale everything to 1080p if necessary (letterbox format for the vertical ones)
Extract the audio and normalize the volume around 91dB
Replace the original audio tracks with the normalized ones
Add the year and month as "watermarks"
Cut each video to cover roughly 20 to 30 seconds of the song
Merge everything and fine-tune the cuts, so that they're as seamless as possible (obviously the hardest part :D)
Final Words
OK - This might not be the most exciting newsletter, but I had to get it out there. There have been some questions about the championship I started, so I figured I should provide some collected information here.
I am looking forward to the next one, though, where I will dive into a very small thing that have been through some HUGE changes over the years. Stay tuned 😉.
Have a day 😊
