The greatest impact
Words have a great impact on me, and these are the words that changed me the most
I guess we all feel down from time to time. That’s part of being human. Moods creep up on us from seemingly nowhere, and it’s actually impossible to know for sure if you are going to feel like crying or laughing (or any other emotional outburst) five minutes into your future. When I’m down, it feels like it drags on forever, and the first time I saw the interview below I was feeling especially bad. Nothing seemed to go my way, and there was no tasks I had put onto myself to do I was able to finish. I felt like a big joke or failure.
At this moment I found myself almost mindlessly watching this interview on YouTube, but when the interviewer from RIML-TV asked her to come up with some wisdom to finish it off, I listened. The impact her chosen words had on me is beyond explaining. I chew on her words until I fell asleep, and the next day I walked to work and tried to mimic the sounds that came from the birds I heard. The darkness that had encompassed me was evaporated out of me during the night.
Today, and every time since then, I always get back to these words when I feel I am not doing a good job as a human being. The link below will take you directly to her wise words, but I do recommend you to watch it all:

INTERVIEWER
...anyway. Thank you so much again for being on this show. You're a wise person... I was gonna say woman but we'll say person because we're 2019. Can we get some words of wisdom?AURORA
Yes, of course! On what topic?INTERVIEWER
Oh, general words of wisdom or advice for your fans or our audience.AURORA
I have.. or I think touring is a very strange thing... and the one thing that makes it really giving and exciting for me is that I meet the people... and it's so beautiful. Because you see the love in people's eyes, and you see the pain in people's eyes, and especially during my shows, I see so much pain in people's eyes and it's so beautiful, and it's so pure......and I know that many people out there uses music and records for help... as a friend too, to explain emotions you can't explain yourself...
...and it can be really hard to be a human, and I think, you know, I'm really proud of you for using music as a friend in times that you need it, because sometimes it's enough. Because it's important. Because word really... words really have power... it's really special...
...and if you ever feel like you can't, like, you're not doing a good enough job as a human, then know that in a day... that our only mission could be just not to die, and then you are officially a successful human. And sometimes I think that's really nice to think about, because it gives me less pressure to do anything more in a day. Because as long as I end up in my bed alive I am... I've done a good job...
We are not alone

Final words
Now that spring is in bloom here in Norway, it’s easy to forget dark days. Still, we don’t know what or when the burdens become too heavy, so we all should heed her words, as I hear them: …as long as I end up in my bed alive, I’m a successful human being.
Have a day
Rune
I’ve heard (and watched) her say this many times in many interviews and I think it is one of the best pieces of advice (among many) that she has given. Some days the circumstances of our lives prevent us from accomplishing what we might consider the bare minimum of what we had planned or wanted to do. But instead of wallowing in defeat, we need to remind ourselves that we have given ourselves the gift of at least one more day to try to accomplish those things, and that in itself is a reason to go on without feeling guilt or shame. The “extreme sport” of being human (as she says) is hard enough without putting unnecessary pressure or unrealistic goals on ourselves. It is so simple yet so right.
